PRINTING
All our canvases are printed using the process of dye-sublimation which, unlike standard inkjet printing, uses a combination of heat and dyes to embed the design into the grain of the canvas. So, unlike most other canvas producers, we print into the canvas not onto it.
The advantage of this is that the image will never distort or crack and is less vulnerable to fading. It is also highly durable and stains can easily be removed with water and a mild detergent! Seriously though, they can!

FRAMING
The stretchers (frames) are made from “radiator” pine which is a much harder pine than the type used on a standard stretched canvas. The depth of the frame on all sizes is 32mm which creates a high quality appearance without being bulky.
Each frame is carefully constructed by hand at the time of order with mitred and underpinned corner joints which, combined with the hard pine, makes it very strong and ridged and unlikely to warp. The canvas itself is also stretched by hand and stapled to the frame.
Another advantage of dye-sub is that it doesn’t weigh the fabric down and allows much more stretch than inkjet, meaning it shouldn’t ever sag or need to be re stretched.

KEEPING IT GREEN
The dyes used in our printing are so stable that they can be used outside, however they are water based not solvents, so are very friendly to the environment. The frames are not imported but constructed on site and the stretcher timber is FSC 100% certified and can be traced back to the grower.
